As reported by BAKU.WS, Dr. Heather Viola, a general practitioner (from Mount Sinai medical complex in New York), explained this to Infobae publication.

According to the specialist, ten minutes of walking at a moderate pace can improve the movement of food through the gastrointestinal tract. This reduces pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter, which decreases the likelihood of acidic stomach contents flowing back into the esophagus.
