Pashinyan: There are forces in Armenia that are not particularly happy about peace with Azerbaijan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has no doubt about the signing of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, BAKU.WS reports citing Armenian media.
"Silent, calm diplomatic work is being conducted for the signing of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan. I have no doubt that this treaty will be signed," Pashinyan said at a briefing on Thursday.
According to him, it is very important to record the convergence of positions between Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding the fact that even under the conditions of initialing the peace treaty, peace has been established.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the current discussion is about strengthening peace and ensuring there is no return to the previous realities.
"There are forces in Armenia that are not particularly happy about peace. We, the citizens of Armenia, must take care of peace and make it irreversible," Pashinyan said.
As a reminder, on August 8, 2025, following a trilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint declaration on the peaceful settlement between Baku and Yerevan and the creation of a transport communication between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. This project was named the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP).
