Arda Turan made a choice between the Turkish national team and "Shakhtar"

Head coach of Ukrainian "Shakhtar" (Donetsk) Arda Turan commented on the reports about his possible appointment as the head coach of the Turkish national team.

As reported by Haber Global, at the press conference before the match against Greek club AEK, he acknowledged that the opportunity to lead the national team is a great honor, but emphasized that at the moment he is focused on his work with the Donetsk team.

"I love my country and my flag very much, but one can represent their country in different ways. Perhaps, as a young coach, I should spend even more time on the football field, develop and continue to represent my country abroad.

I made a promise for the entire duration of my contract. Therefore, I will remain committed to "Shakhtar", its management, and the players to whom I gave my word. I hope my position is now clear," Turan noted.

It should be recalled that the Turkish specialist's contract with "Shakhtar" runs until the summer of 2027.
