Azerbaijani veteran wrestlers won 3 medals at the World Championship

Three Azerbaijani athletes climbed the podium at the World Veterans Wrestling Championship held in the capital of Jordan - Amman.

As reported to BAKU.WS by the Wrestling Federation of Azerbaijan, silver medals in Greco-Roman wrestling were won by Fikret Bagirov (70 kilograms) and Elgiz Mammadov (100 kg), while in freestyle wrestling - Elchin Hasanov (70 kg).

Azerbaijan was also represented at the world championship by four referees. First-degree international category judge Elman Ismailov primarily served as the chief referee on the mat. National judges Afghan Habibov, Chinara Jafarova, and Rashad Abdulov served as side referees on the mat.

All four also participated in examinations conducted for obtaining international status. Their results will be announced by the end of the year.
