The winner of the III International Ultramarathon Gabala-Khankendi has been determined
The III International Gabala-Khankendi Ultramarathon, organized with the joint organizational support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Athletics Federation of Azerbaijan, and the "Baku City Circuit" Operating Company, has concluded.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAC, in the final stage, the ultramarathon participants covered a distance of 29.2 km from Aghdam to Khankendi.
The stage winner was Georgia's representative Davit Kharazishvili. In the women's competition, Ukraine's representative Olena Shevchenko was the first to cross the finish line.
97 athletes from 6 countries took part in the competition. The ultramarathon consisted of four stages: Gabala-Agdash (52.5 km), Agdash-Barda (63.5 km), Barda-Aghdam (46.8 km), and Aghdam-Khankendi (29.2 km). Thus, over four days, the athletes covered a total distance of 192 km.
The Khankendi Ultramarathon was first organized in 2024 along the Khankendi–Baku route. 64 athletes from four countries participated in the competition, which covered a 380-kilometer distance. In 2025, the ultramarathon followed the Gabala–Khankendi route, and 81 athletes from six countries joined the competition.
