The Azerbaijani judo team defeated the Austrian team in the mixed team competition on the final day of the World Championship in Baku.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, in the 1/16 finals, the Azerbaijani judokas defeated their opponents with a score of 4:0 and advanced to the next round.

In the 1/8 finals, the Azerbaijani team will face the Japanese team.

The women's roster of the Azerbaijani team includes Gultaj Mamadaliyeva, Khadija Gadashova (both - 57 kg), Sudaba Agayeva, Khanna Zaitseva (both - 70 kg), and Madina Kaysinova (over 70 kg).

The men's roster includes Rashid Mamadaliyev, Ruslan Pashayev (both - 73 kg), Zelim Tskayev, Suleyman Shukurov (both - 90 kg), Zelim Kotsoyev, and Ushangi Kokauri (both - over 90 kg).

On the eighth and final day of the World Championship at the National Gymnastics Arena, 192 judokas from 18 countries are participating in the team competition.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani team concluded the individual competition with a record result of seven medals.

Ahmed Yusifov (60 kg) won the gold medal, Zelim Tskayev (81 kg) and Ushangi Kokauri (over 100 kg) won silver medals, while Rashid Mamadaliyev (73 kg), Omar Rajabli (81 kg), Murad Fatiyev (90 kg), and Kenan Nasibov (over 100 kg) won bronze medals.
