Dnata and Silk Way Group JV plans to handle over 800 thousand tons of cargo in Alat
A joint venture between UAE-based Dnata and Silk Way Group plans to handle over 800,000 tons of cargo per year at the initial stage at the new Alat International Airport.
As Report informs, this was announced by Vugar Mammadov, Vice President of Silk Way West Airlines for CIS countries, Turkey, and Israel, at the German-Azerbaijani Connectivity Conference being held in Baku.
According to him, the logistics center operating within the Alat Free Economic Zone plans to provide direct railway connectivity, regional cargo transportation and distribution, as well as create warehouse infrastructure.
"The new Alat International Airport adds an aviation component to this ecosystem. Our partnership with Dnata is another important part of this development. The joint venture between Dnata and Silk Way Group is aimed at providing cargo and ground handling services at the new Alat International Airport. At the initial stage, its planned annual capacity will exceed 800,000 tons," Mammadov said.
