Aziz Alibeyli: Erdogan's call to Ilham Aliyev is a blow to anti-Azerbaijani groups
"The phone call of the President of Turkey to the President of Azerbaijan is a separate decisive factor. At the same time, it is a very serious lesson and a blow to anti-Azerbaijani groups conducting a broad campaign against Azerbaijan from Turkey, as well as those embedded within the AKP, and those who serve as 'gatekeepers' for various foreign intelligence agencies."
Political analyst Aziz Alibeyli stated this in his commentary to BAKU.WS. According to him, the establishment of contact on the initiative of President Erdoğan and the processes that have been going in the wrong direction indicate a serious oversight on Turkey's part:
"At the same time, the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan to the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which will be held in Turkey, and especially the strong desire to see him at the event deserves a sufficiently high appreciation.
I believe that the discussion of internal issues, as well as particularly emphasized regional issues, is an indicator of how great Turkey's need for Azerbaijan is.
Of course, Azerbaijan treats Turkey as a strategic partner. In any case, the matter of Azerbaijan's internal affairs, its position, and the unwavering defense of its position is assessed not only in the context of Turkey. This brings to the forefront how important it is for Azerbaijan to uphold its position in relations with any state.
In a situation where Azerbaijan's national interests become a subject of discussion, retreat is absent from the lexicon of the President of Azerbaijan."
