President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the establishment of the "Azykh-Taghlar Archaeological Park" State Reserve.

As reported by BAKU.WS, according to the decree, the territories of the Azykh and Taghlar cave sites, located in the Khojavend district and being among the oldest human habitation sites and unique examples of world culture, are declared the "Azykh-Taghlar Archaeological Park" State Reserve.

The purpose of establishing the reserve is to ensure the preservation, restoration, and scientific study of the Azykh and Taghlar cave sites as objects of historical and cultural heritage, as well as the promotion of their archaeological value at local and international levels.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with approving the reserve's regulations within three months, defining its boundaries and buffer zone, establishing a special regime for the territory, and informing the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as taking the necessary measures to provide material and technical support for the reserve.

The Ministry of Culture is to ensure the management of the reserve and take the necessary measures to resolve other issues arising from the decree.

Funding of the necessary expenses related to ensuring the reserve's operations will be carried out from the funds allocated in the state budget for the Ministry of Culture.
