If a person takes no more than 18 breaths per minute, this indicates normal functioning of the cardiovascular system. With such breathing, the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for relaxation, functions more actively, and stress levels are notably reduced.

Another sign of strong health, according to Arias, is the ability to maintain balance on one leg with open eyes for more than 30 seconds. This test evaluates the condition of the nervous system and movement coordination. Good stability signals proper transmission of signals between the brain and muscles and may be associated with greater life expectancy.

The third indicator is the ability to hold a horizontal plank for at least 30 seconds. "Studies show that people who can perform this exercise for longer periods more often have a smaller volume of visceral fat — adipose tissue around internal organs," the expert adds.

Grip strength is also an important health indicator. Its decline may suggest an increased risk of various diseases. This indicator is easy to check — try opening a jar of pickles using only your hands, without the use of tools.
