In the new issue of the Hərbi xronika ("Military Chronicle") column, military journalist Fardin Isazade spoke about the strategic and institutional changes in Iran's military-political structures caused by the appointment of General Abdulrahim Musavi as Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian army, replacing Mohammad Bageri, who was killed as a result of an Israeli strike.

According to him, this appointment is considered unusual from the perspective of military leadership traditions in Iran.

"After the Islamic Revolution of 1979, all General Staff leaders were figures directly or indirectly connected to the IRGC. Musavi, however, is a professional military officer who developed in Iran's classical and non-politicized army - 'Artesh'. He began his service in 1980 and for many years led the air defense forces. This appointment indicates serious changes in the internal military balance that Iranian authorities have built and maintained for many years," noted the journalist.

F.Isazade emphasized that Musavi's arrival could significantly influence not only the army structure but also the distribution of influence within the IRGC and the principle of political-ideological stability.
