A public legal entity, the "National Cybersecurity Agency" under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, is being established on the basis of the Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

As reported by BAKU.WS, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree in this regard.

The document also approved the charter of the National Cybersecurity Agency.

The authorized capital of the agency will be formed from funds allocated for the state body in the state budget for the current year and not used by the date of full fulfillment of the obligations of that state body.

A board consisting of 4 members — a chairman and three deputy chairmen — will be established to carry out general management and oversight of the agency's activities.

The exercise of the founder's powers over the agency is vested in:

- The President of Azerbaijan:

- approval of the agency's charter and determination of the authorized capital amount, as well as making amendments thereto;

- establishment of the agency's governing bodies;

- reorganization and liquidation of the agency;

- The Cabinet of Ministers:

- ensures the transfer of property on the balance sheet of the state body specified in Part 1 of this decree to the balance sheet of the agency within 1 month from the date of the agency's state registration, and also prepares and submits proposals to the President of Azerbaijan for improving the material and technical support of the agency.
