President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their family members visited the retrospective exhibition "My Absheron and Beyond"

On October 27, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, their daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan to view the retrospective exhibition titled "My Absheron and Beyond," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outstanding artist, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, People's Artist Farhad Khalilov.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the exhibition, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan, and the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, features more than 90 works from the People's Artist's personal collection, created from the 1960s to the present day, including various examples of art — from monumental paintings to small-format graphic works.

One of the outstanding representatives of Azerbaijani fine art, Farhad Khalilov is distinguished by his multifaceted creativity, original artistic style, and unique manner of painting. Working in various genres of easel painting, the artist has combined different artistic approaches in his work — from realism to avant-garde and abstract art. His works draw attention through the diversity of artistic means of expression, the distinctiveness of color solutions and palette, as well as the emotional impact of the depicted space.

The landscape genre holds an important place in the artist's work, particularly the theme of Absheron. In the works of Farhad Khalilov, created based on personal observations and impressions, the nature of Absheron, coastal landscapes, villages, changeable weather, and unique atmosphere find their expression in an individual artistic interpretation through color, light, and palette.

Absheron in the artist's work is not merely a subject of depiction but also one of the key themes through which his feelings, reflections, and worldview are revealed. The painter's works convey not only the visual characteristics of the space but also the emotional sensations it evokes.
