Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated Ilham Aliyev

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of May 28 - Independence Day.

As reported by AZERTAC, the message states:

"Your Excellency.

I cordially congratulate Your Excellency and your people on the national holiday of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Independence Day.

The peoples of Iran and Azerbaijan share much in common from historical, civilizational, cultural, religious, and linguistic perspectives. These common bonds have strengthened and made the friendship between the peoples of our countries unshakable. Undoubtedly, our inseparable ties have become a solid foundation for the development of relations between the two countries.

Since the restoration of independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the development of bilateral relations.
