The Azea Group Case: Following the Husband, the Wife Has Also Been Detained

The wife of Elsever Aliyev, the head of Azea Group LLC, who is accused of large-scale fraud and other crimes, has also been charged criminally.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Qafqazinfo, Aychichek Aliyeva, who was engaged in joint activities with E. Aliyev, was detained by police officers. She has been charged under Articles 162.1.1 and 178.4 of the Criminal Code.

Given that A. Aliyeva has a minor child in her care, and also taking into account her husband's illness, a preventive measure not involving detention was chosen for her during the investigation period.

It should be noted that the head of Azea Group, a company engaged in construction and renovation of houses in Baku, Elsever Aliyev, accused of fraud, was detained by police officers several days earlier. However, he was later placed under house arrest due to his health condition.

Both suspects were detained during operational measures carried out by the Water Transport Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and handed over for investigation.

It is worth adding that an investigation had previously been conducted regarding the aforementioned individuals. Subsequently, the Baku City Prosecutor's Office decided to transfer the case materials for further proceedings to the Water Transport Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Currently, investigative actions in the inquiry and investigation division of the department are ongoing.
