Azerbaijan and Iran continue bilateral cooperation in the fight against corruption and crime. Interaction has been established between the relevant agencies.
As BAKU.WS reports with reference to Oxu.Az, Iran's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mojtaba Damirchilu stated this to journalists.
According to him, in the modern world, the fight against crime cannot be waged by the efforts of just one state, one government, or within the territory of any single country.
"The entire world must wage a systematic and coordinated fight in this direction. In this context, today's meeting within the framework of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) sends a signal that Islamic countries are striving for solidarity and cooperation in the fight against corruption and crime," the diplomat stated.
The ambassador added that in order to fight crime, it is not necessary to wait until criminals commit a crime.
"Perhaps even more important is our cooperation aimed at preventing criminals from committing crimes or continuing their criminal activities. In this regard, both bilateral and multilateral cooperation is beneficial. It is very positive that we are interacting at both levels," he noted.
