All Moscow airports have suspended flights
Operations at all Moscow airports have been temporarily suspended: Sheremetyevo was the last to announce the introduction of restrictions.
As reported by BAKU.WS citing the airport's press service, the measures are related to the activation of the "carpet" signal. Passengers were warned about possible changes to flight schedules.
Earlier, similar restrictions were imposed at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports. According to Rosaviatsia (Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency), these steps are aimed at ensuring flight safety.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense stated that during the night of May 5, 289 drones were intercepted and destroyed over Russian territory.
Also on May 5, temporary flight restrictions were introduced in a number of cities, including Izhevsk, Chelyabinsk, Cheboksary, Bugulma, Orenburg, Orsk, Ufa, Kazan, Saint Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod. In some airports, these measures were subsequently lifted.
