In these countries, buses, metro, and trams are free

In some countries, public transport is completely free. This privilege is distributed differently in different countries: in some places only for certain categories of citizens, in some places for all local residents, and in some countries even for visiting tourists.
As reported by BAKU.WS, one of the countries with free public transport is Luxembourg.
Since March 1, 2020, Luxembourg has completely eliminated fares for trams, buses, and trains throughout the country. This revolutionary decision applies not only to local residents but also to all tourists visiting the country.
In Estonia, as in Luxembourg, public transport provides free services for the local population. However, there is a nuance here - free travel is only available to citizens registered after 2013. Unlike Luxembourg, tourists in Estonia have to pay for public transport.
In Malta, the free travel rule has been in effect since October 1, 2022. Local residents can use free transport if they have a "Tallinja Kart" card.
In Serbia, from January 1, 2025, public transport in the capital Belgrade will become free, but only for residents of the city.
