The first FIFA Under-15 World Cup will be held in Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on measures related to holding the first FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan in 2026.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to President.az, the head of state signed the corresponding order in this regard.

The document states:

"At the meeting of the Bureau of the Council of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on June 25, 2026, a decision was made to hold the first FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan from October 22-31, 2026.

Hosting the first-ever U-15 World Cup and Football Festival in Azerbaijan will serve to further strengthen the growing authority of our country on the international sports arena, develop football, and enrich the experience accumulated by Azerbaijan in the field of organizing prestigious competitions.

Guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in order to ensure the proper holding of the first FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan in 2026, I hereby decree:

1. To assign the coordination of measures and the resolution of necessary issues related to holding the first FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan to the Organizing Committee established by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 849 dated December 15, 2025, in connection with holding the FIFA U-20 Men's World Cup in Azerbaijan in 2027.

2. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall resolve the issues arising from this order."
