MEE: Erdogan gifted Trump a special gold-plated revolver at the NATO summit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented Donald Trump with a personalized gold-plated revolver and a set of ammunition during Trump's visit to Ankara for the NATO summit last week.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was disclosed to Middle East Eye by several sources.

According to the sources, Erdoğan gave similar personalized revolvers to all NATO country leaders who attended the summit. However, only the one intended for Trump had gold plating.

The gift was presented amid a noticeable warming of relations between Erdoğan and Trump.

It should be recalled that the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit was held on July 7-8, 2026, in Ankara. It was the second alliance summit hosted by Turkey (the first took place in Istanbul in 2004).
