Today, the first batch of oil products is being sent from Azerbaijan to Armenia
In accordance with the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the export of petroleum products from Azerbaijan to Armenia will begin on December 18.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to APA, according to the agreement reached at a meeting on November 28 in the city of Gabala between the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan, 22 railcars of AI-95 gasoline produced by SOCAR will be sent today.
Note that the export of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia is purely commercial in nature, and gasoline will be sold at prices corresponding to international market rates.
In a statement distributed on December 8 by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, it was reported that on December 5, a request was received from partners for a one-time transit of fuel from Azerbaijan to Armenia through the territory of Georgia: "By decision of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgian Railways was instructed to immediately carry out free transportation of goods by rail on a one-time basis."
This clearly demonstrates that the peace agenda is not only declarative in nature but is also being implemented in practice.
The export of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia reflects the concept of economic dividends from the peace process and is an important step towards the formation of economic and trade relations between the two countries. This will also contribute to the development of economic and trade relations in the region and the expansion of ties between countries in the region in the future.
