11 people have been brought to criminal liability for illegally selling agricultural land

The preliminary investigation has been completed against 11 individuals accused of selling state lands they had illegally seized.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this is stated in the information from the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.

The Main Department for Combating Corruption under the General Prosecutor has completed the preliminary investigation into the criminal case initiated based on materials received from the Ministry of Agriculture.

The criminal case was investigated regarding the facts of illegal seizure and sale to individual persons of agricultural land plots that were in state ownership and located in the Ramana settlement of the city of Baku. These plots were in the use of "Azeragrar State Production and Processing Association" LLC, which is subordinate to the aforementioned ministry.

During the preliminary investigation, reasonable suspicions were established that 11 individuals — Galib Mirza oglu Aliyev, Anar Rafig oglu Huseynov, Jeyhun Adil oglu Ashrafov, Araz Aziz oglu Ismayilov, Amin Farkhad oglu Guliyev, Arif Alasdan oglu Mammadov, Vidadi Elgam oglu Rasulov, Ilgar Ismayil oglu Gahramanov, Orkhan Mustafa oglu Vahidov, Jeyhun Ikram oglu Demirov, and Safa Abbasgulu oglu Novruzov — had committed crimes related to fraud and violation of ownership, use, and lease rights of land plots.

Based on the evidence collected, the aforementioned individuals have been charged under Articles 178.4 — fraud causing damage on an especially large scale, 188.3 — violation of ownership, use, or lease rights of a land plot in relation to agricultural lands, as well as other articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The indictment in the criminal case has been approved by the prosecutor exercising procedural supervision over the preliminary investigation and has been submitted for consideration to the Baku Court on Grave Crimes.

As a result of measures taken during the preliminary investigation, more than 20 hectares of state-owned lands have been returned to the use of the Ministry of Agriculture. In addition, partial compensation for material damage caused to the victim individuals has been ensured in the criminal case.
