An important decision by Vilayat Eyvazov: the procedure for compiling statistical reports is being improved
The registration of criminal cases, crimes, and the persons who committed them, as well as the compilation of statistical reporting on crime, will now be carried out exclusively by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
As reported by Oxu.Az, a corresponding decision has been signed in this regard.
Prior to the amendments, these functions were performed not only by this agency but also by the Military Prosecutor's Office.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) has been included in the list of agencies that carry out record-keeping.
The MoD has also been designated as the agency responsible for submitting relevant documents to the Main Directorate of Operational and Statistical Information of the MIA.
Previously, a similar procedure applied to the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and other relevant government agencies.
According to the decision, materials collected within the framework of simplified pre-trial proceedings have also been included in the unified criminal record-keeping system.
At the same time, the separate mechanism for statistical reporting on military crimes has been abolished.
Previously, crimes against military service committed by military personnel or involving non-military individuals, as well as crimes related to the activities of military units, institutions, and organizations or committed on their premises, were registered by the Military Prosecutor's Office. It also compiled statistical reports and submitted them to the Prosecutor General's Office.
In addition, the provision requiring the transfer of criminal cases involving crimes committed by military personnel from the Prosecutor General's Office to the Military Prosecutor's Office after charges were filed has been abolished.
