101-year-old woman shared the secret of longevity
A US resident who celebrated her 101st birthday revealed the habit that she believes helped her live a long life.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to foreign media, American Norma Swan, born on July 1, 1925, marked her 101st birthday with an unusual celebration. The festivities took place at theAughema city library and were themed after the famous animated film "101 Dalmatians." Her loved ones spent nearly a year preparing the themed party.
According to the centenarian's daughter Linda Romblom, the main trait of her mother's character remains sincere gratitude for everything that happens in life. She noted that Norma has made it a habit to end each day with a prayer, thanking the Lord for all the blessings bestowed upon her.
Family and friends also emphasize that the birthday celebrant always tried to see the bright side even in difficult situations and never allowed hardships to rob her of her optimism.
Norma Swan herself is convinced that the main factor behind her longevity has been constant physical activity. According to the American, she never liked sitting idle, spent a lot of time working outdoors, and believes that it was movement, sunlight, and living close to nature that played an important role in maintaining her health and well-being. As foreign experts note, this kind of lifestyle is indeed often cited as one of the factors contributing to active longevity.
