Players of the Iranian national football team have received visas to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

As reported by TASS, this was announced by the ambassador of the Islamic Republic to Turkey, Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh.

"Visas for the Iranian national team players were issued within 48 hours without the need for the footballers to appear in person and without undergoing the fingerprinting procedure at the Mexican embassy," he said.

On May 24, the president of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mehdi Taj, announced that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) had approved the relocation of Iran's base camp at the World Cup from the USA to Mexico.

The Iranian national team is scheduled to play all three group stage matches in the USA. The Iranian team has been drawn into a group with Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand.

The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19. For the first time, 48 teams will participate in the competition.
