The death toll from the earthquakes in Venezuela has risen to 2,595, and the number of injured has exceeded 12,000, announced authorized president Delcy Rodríguez during a press conference.
This was reported by BAKU.WS citing Le Figaro.
"As of today, 2,595 people have died. The entire healthcare system of Venezuela has been mobilized to receive 12,400 injured people recorded as of now," she said, noting that "no one will be buried in mass graves."
She also noted that 189 buildings were destroyed by the earthquakes.
Nearly all officials perished in the Venezuelan state of La Guaira during the earthquakes, Delcy Rodríguez reported.
