Zelensky summarized the results of negotiations with the United States
Ukraine and the USA are conducting negotiations in Berlin regarding the end of the conflict with Russia. So far, the parties have not reached an agreement on the issue of territories.
As Oxu.Az reports, citing "RBC-Ukraine," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this at a press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
He reminded that meetings with American officials have been continuing for the second day. In particular, yesterday, December 14, negotiations lasted for more than 5 hours. Today, December 15, several rounds of negotiations have already taken place. The dialogue continues, and there was a substantive conversation during the day.
The President added that Ukrainian representatives will continue negotiations with their American colleagues. The Ukrainian delegation is working almost around the clock to achieve results.
According to Zelensky, not all issues were simple. One of the difficult topics is territories, and all issues are raised during such meetings. "There was enough dialogue about territories. I think that we still have different positions, to be frank. But I think that colleagues heard my personal position. I am very glad that I could personally convey this position," said the Ukrainian leader.
The head of state also noted that Ukraine and the USA are ready to work productively to find a solution that will bring the end of the conflict closer, with respect for Ukraine. He announced new meetings that will take place this evening.
As reported by the media, at the moment it is known that negotiations between Ukrainian and American delegations in Berlin continue. An unnamed American official said at a briefing that 90% of all issues were agreed upon during the discussions. He claims that US President Donald Trump was satisfied with the result of the negotiations. The head of the White House is expected to call Zelensky and European leaders who will meet this evening, December 15.
Reuters reports that the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, as well as the leaders of Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and Sweden are planning to join the negotiations on Russian-Ukrainian settlement in Berlin. The newspaper El Mundo reports that French President Emmanuel Macron will also come to Berlin. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will also participate in the negotiations. The Prime Minister of Spain will not attend the meeting.
