Iran-US negotiations were on the verge of collapse
Iran has not yet agreed to the next round of negotiations with the United States due to statements by U.S. President Donald Trump about a naval blockade of Iran.
As Iranian media report, citing a source, "due to Trump's statement about a naval blockade of Iran, as well as excessive demands by the Americans during the negotiations, Iran has not yet agreed to the next round of talks."
According to the source, Washington's (USA) withdrawal of its inflated demands is the most important condition for the continuation of negotiations. Otherwise, "Iran will not waste time on exhausting and fruitless negotiations."
The source also noted that "Iran has notified the American side through Pakistani intermediaries."
As a reminder, it was recently reported that Iran and the United States would resume negotiations on Monday (April 20) in Islamabad (Pakistan).
