Fruits and vegetables may become more expensive in summer
The world is experiencing a rise in fertilizer prices, which may also affect the cost of agricultural products.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Xəzər TV, tensions between the US and Iran have also impacted the fertilizer market. This is due to the fact that natural gas and other energy resources play a key role in their production. As energy prices rise, production costs also increase, which directly affects the final cost of products.
Economist Akif Nasirli notes that in the current situation, seasonal fruits and vegetables are expected to become more expensive this year.
According to him, another reason for the price increase has been the heavy rains observed in the country during the spring. The abundant precipitation led to soil erosion, flooding of agricultural lands, and consequently, crop damage.
