Gurban Gurbanov spoke about the punishment of Elvin Jafarguliyev

According to the specialist, a frank conversation was held with the footballer.

"What is gratifying is that he said everything as it is. About the fact that we had a conversation and so on... I support every footballer. Until today, there has never been a case where I did not think about a player's development, their lifestyle, and their future. I always talked even with the weakest-performing footballer. I am not putting this forward as a reason. However, there are periods in life when a footballer must show more character and resilience. There is a lot of talk around Elvin right now: don't sit there, sit here, this one will call, that one will call, TV shows and so on. He was named Player of the Round in the Champions League. But I always tell footballers: one good game doesn't mean the mission is accomplished. This is the club Qarabag. You win one or two matches — and even a single dropped point becomes an obstacle," G. Gurbanov emphasized.

The specialist also noted that one cannot, after playing well in a few Champions League matches, break discipline in an important game.

"As for forgiveness — the process is ongoing. Let my colleagues from other clubs understand me correctly: perhaps somewhere such things can be overlooked, but if the club is called Qarabag, we cannot do that. The punishment is an internal matter of the club. Football requires consistency. I cannot devalue the hard work of my footballers. I have constantly told them about this both personally and at team meetings. What concerns me? We must not take the championship lightly, thinking only about our successes in the Champions League," the head coach added.
