As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to GASA, communication with the aircraft was suddenly lost, and search and rescue operations were immediately initiated following the incident in accordance with established protocols.
"Several minutes after crossing into Georgian territory, the Turkish C-130 aircraft disappeared from our radars without sending a distress signal. After the incident, Georgia's Air Navigation Service began implementing the prescribed search and rescue measures," - the statement says.
Flight tracking websites show that the C-130 with tail number TUAF543, which departed from Ganja in Azerbaijan, disappeared from radars over Georgian airspace shortly after takeoff. Videos distributed on social media show the moment the aircraft crashed in the Georgian region of Rustavi.
