Azerbaijan and Italy discussed new opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector

President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf met with Chief Executive Officer of MAIRE Group Alessandro Bernini.

As reported by SOCAR, during the meeting, the dynamic development of ties between Azerbaijan and Italy in the energy sector was noted. It was particularly emphasized that SOCAR's activities in Italy, including the acquisition of shares in Italiana Petroli, is one of the manifestations of successful cooperation between the two countries.

During the conversation, the parties expressed satisfaction with the effective partnership that has been established between SOCAR and MAIRE in the fields of oil refining and petrochemicals over the past years.

In addition, the prospects for further cooperation in the petrochemical industry were discussed, as well as the possibilities of implementing new joint projects in areas of mutual interest.
