The winner of IRONMAN 70.3 in Baku has been determined

The athlete who finished first in the IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon held in Baku has been determined.

As reported by Oxu.Az, Croatian triathlete Matej Jukić was the first to cross the finish line.

He covered the 113 km distance in 4 hours 1 minute and 20 seconds, becoming the winner of the competition.

It should be noted that more than 1,500 triathletes from 62 countries are participating in the IRONMAN 70.3 Baku competition. Athletes compete in stages of 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling, and 21.1 km running.

The IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon competition has started in Baku.

As reported by Oxu.Az, more than 1,500 triathletes from 62 countries are participating in the prestigious competition.

Azerbaijan is represented by 123 athletes. Participants compete in 13 age groups among men and women. The categories cover athletes from 18-24 years old to 80-84 years old.

In the main competition, 807 men and 197 women are participating. The youngest participant is 18 years old, and the oldest is 80 years old.

Relay competitions will also be organized as part of the program. In the relay, which will feature men's, women's, and mixed teams, 47 teams will compete. In conclusion, the three most active clubs will also be awarded.

Triathletes will cover a total distance of 113 km. The competition consists of stages: 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling, and 21.1 km running.

At IRONMAN 70.3 Baku, 25 athletes who show the best results among men and women will earn the right to participate in the World Championship, which will be held in 2027 in the USA.

It should be noted that the competition is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Triathlon Federation of Azerbaijan, and the Baku City Circuit Operations Company.
