Iranian Foreign Minister Departs for Oman for Talks with the US
A diplomatic delegation from Iran, headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, has traveled to the Omani capital of Muscat for negotiations with the United States on the nuclear program.
This was announced by the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic, Esmaeil Baghaei, on the social network X.
"Foreign Minister Araghchi, heading a diplomatic mission, has traveled to Muscat for negotiations on the nuclear program with the United States. This diplomatic meeting is being conducted with the aim of achieving a fair, mutually beneficial, and honest understanding on the nuclear issue," he wrote.
Furthermore, Baghaei stated that Tehran has not forgotten the bitter experience of previous agreements being violated:
"We always consider it our duty to defend the rights of the Iranian people. At the same time, we bear responsibility for not missing the opportunity to use diplomacy to ensure the interests of the Iranian people and preserve peace and security in the region."
According to him, Iran highly values relations with neighboring friendly countries that play a responsible role in facilitating the negotiation process between Tehran and Washington: "We hope that the American side will approach this process with a sense of responsibility, realistically and seriously."
It should be noted that earlier, US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Oman to participate in tomorrow's negotiations with Iran.
