As part of preparations for the joint exercises "Heydar Aliyev-2026," to be held in the Turkish city of Kars, a ceremony of exchanging the state flags of Azerbaijan and Turkey took place.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, servicemen of the Separate Combined Arms Army set out from Nakhchivan with the Azerbaijani flag toward the "Umid" bridge over the Araz River, where the "Sadarak" border checkpoint is located. The Turkish group also set out from Kars to the ceremony venue.

On the "Umid" bridge, the national anthems of the two countries were played, after which the flag exchange ceremony took place.

Commander of the Separate Combined Arms Army Lieutenant General Kenan Seyidov spoke at the event dedicated to the deployment of personnel and equipment to the exercise site, emphasizing the importance of the joint maneuvers.

It should be noted that the purpose of the exercises is to practice joint planning and conduct of operations, organize coordination, exchange experience in the field of comprehensive combat support, and enhance the professional skills of military personnel.
