Scientists made a disturbing statement for humanity about fresh water on Earth

A group of leading scientists from various countries has published an urgent report on the rapid decline of freshwater resources on the globe. According to their data, the world may face an acute shortage of clean water in the next 20-30 years.
The causes of the worsening crisis are identified as climate change, intensive use of water in agriculture and industry, as well as pollution of water bodies. It is particularly noted that underground sources and reservoirs are being depleted much faster than they are being replenished.
Specialists urge the global community to urgently take measures to reduce water consumption and develop purification technologies. Otherwise, according to forecasts, by 2050 more than a quarter of the planet's population may find themselves in conditions of severe water shortage.
