Embezzlement of 143 million manats: court delivers verdict in case of former Ministry of Defense officers

The court proceedings on the appeals against the verdict concerning former Head of the Financial and Budgetary Department of the Ministry of Defense Major General Nizami Mammadov, ex-head of the Financial Service of the Air Force Colonel Jalal Kazimov, former Head of the Financial Department of the Ground Forces Bayram Bayramov, and ex-head of the Financial Service of the Naval Forces Vusal Alizade have concluded.

As Report informs, the decision was announced at the session of the Baku Court of Appeal chaired by Judge Ibrahim Ibrahimli.

According to the ruling, the appeals of the defendants were not granted. The verdict of the Baku Military Court was upheld without changes.

It should be noted that N. Mammadov was previously sentenced to 11 years and 6 months, B. Bayramov - to 11 years and 6 months, J. Kazimov - to 11 years, V. Alizade - to 10 years and 6 months of imprisonment.

The defendants were found guilty of embezzlement of funds allocated from the state budget.
