On October 5, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Marco Rubio.

During the telephone conversation, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and the United States were discussed, as well as issues related to the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Significant progress in the development of bilateral relations toward strategic partnership was noted, achieved following the historic summit held on August 8, 2025, in Washington.

In this context, the importance of the activities of working groups on priority areas defined in the Charter on Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States was emphasized in terms of further deepening bilateral cooperation.

During the telephone conversation, it was noted that the important results achieved within the framework of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States in 2026, including documents signed during the Baku Energy Week and the II Azerbaijan International Investment Forum in such areas as energy, exploration, development and production of hydrocarbon resources, investments, digital technologies, trade, and other areas, significantly expanded the practical substance of bilateral cooperation.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the American side about Azerbaijan's consistent steps taken to advance the peace agenda, build confidence, and strengthen regional stability.

During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views also took place on other issues of mutual interest.
