Ilham Aliyev: All weapons were purchased with money, at world prices no less — down to the last bullet

At a time when we needed help, no one helped us. When we had one million refugees, no one extended a helping hand to us. Everything we acquired, we purchased with money. Including all weapons — we bought them with money, at world prices — down to the last bullet.

This was stated by President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the VIII congress of the "Yeni Azerbaijan" party.

"I tell you with full responsibility as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, as the person who oversaw all these matters. You know how Azerbaijan has been arming itself from 2003 to this day, both through domestic production and purchases abroad. Not once were we given a discount of a single manat or a single dollar. At times, we were even sold weaponry at prices several times higher than the world price. And we were forced to turn a blind eye to this. Therefore, this is a very serious matter," the head of state added.
