Samad Bashirli: High-speed digital connectivity can attract AI investments to Azerbaijan
High-speed digital communication channels may attract investments in data centers and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure to Azerbaijan.
As Report informs, this was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli at the German-Azerbaijani Connectivity Conference in Baku.
According to him, the Trans-Caspian fiber-optic cable line, which is currently under development, will strengthen digital connectivity between Europe and Asia by creating an additional route for transmitting large volumes of data across the Caspian Sea. This will enhance the resilience of regional communication networks and strengthen Azerbaijan's role as a digital transit hub.
"The combination of high-speed digital connections with reliable energy supply and the growing potential of renewable energy sources may attract investments in data centers, High-Performance Computing, and artificial intelligence infrastructure. To expand these opportunities, we are working with international partners, including Oracle, Dell Technologies, and BP," the deputy minister noted.
