The Situation in the Strait of Hormuz: Is Washington Making Concessions to Beijing?
It is hard to imagine a party, other than China, capable of resolving the tense situation surrounding Iran and in the Strait of Hormuz.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Baku TV, this statement by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, made on April 14 during a visit to China, was initially perceived as a diplomatic gesture.
However, the very next day, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on the social network Truth Social that he had unblocked the Strait of Hormuz, adding that China highly appreciated this step.
After that, all attention was drawn to the statements of the Spanish prime minister. Does China truly hold a key role in the Strait of Hormuz issue, and does this mean that Washington is making concessions to Beijing?
According to assessments, Donald Trump's statement that he is "opening the Strait of Hormuz for China" may indicate that the positions of the two countries were coordinated even before the visit. This could also be viewed as a diplomatic gesture toward Beijing - a signal for reciprocal steps.
Against this backdrop, reports are emerging that China and Russia are allegedly transferring weapons and satellite data to Iran related to the positions of American military forces.
