A wanted citizen of Azerbaijan has been extradited from Montenegro
A citizen of Azerbaijan who was on an international wanted list has been extradited from Montenegro.
This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.
According to the ministry, in 2024, Suleymanov Hidayat Nemat oglu, accused of fraud under Article 178.2.4 of the Criminal Code, was detained in Montenegro.
Following a request from the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan and negotiations held, an agreement was reached with the Montenegrin side on his extradition.
Officers of the Main Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Justice and the Penitentiary Service transported Hidayat Suleymanov from the city of Tivat to Azerbaijan. Based on a court decision, he has been placed in a pre-trial detention facility.
