An exchange of views took place on future joint programs between Azerbaijan and the Holy See

On September 29, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva met with the Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue of the Holy See, Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad.

As reported by AZERTAC, during the meeting, Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad fondly recalled his visit to Azerbaijan and the hospitality extended to him. He said that he was received by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and noted that the meetings held during the visit were of particular significance. The Cardinal emphasized that at a time when messages of war, violence, and hatred are spreading across the world, the model of interreligious solidarity and peace in Azerbaijan serves as a great message for the entire international community.

Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, against the backdrop of complex processes taking place in the world, emphasized the importance of mutual support between the parties, joining efforts, and expanding discussions around culture, religion, as well as human values.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the Vatican and future joint programs within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations.
