President of Azerbaijan received Prime Minister of Tajikistan

On September 25, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda.

As reported by BAKU.WS, emphasizing that Azerbaijan and Tajikistan are friendly and brotherly countries, President Ilham Aliyev noted the existence of good opportunities for the progressive development of the potential of bilateral cooperation, touched upon the importance of his visits to Tajikistan and the visits of the President of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan, as well as other mutual visits at various levels in expanding relations.

President Ilham Aliyev said that Kohir Rasulzoda's visit to our country creates an opportunity to discuss issues on the agenda, including those related to the transport and logistics sector, economic interaction, and increasing trade turnover.

Expressing gratitude for the reception and hospitality, Kohir Rasulzoda conveyed to the head of state greetings and best wishes from President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed appreciation for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to the head of state of Tajikistan as well. The head of state fondly recalled his meetings and conversations with Emomali Rahmon held in Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, as well as within the framework of international events.

Emphasizing that Tajikistan highly values friendly relations and strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, the guest noted that thanks to the strong political will of the presidents of both countries and dialogue based on trust, our cooperation has entered a new stage of development. In this regard, the Prime Minister recalled the "Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tajikistan," signed by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in 2024 in Baku.

Kohir Rasulzoda particularly noted the personal contribution of President Ilham Aliyev to the expansion of ties.

Touching upon the significance of the Azerbaijani ASAN xidmət model, the Prime Minister expressed his country's interest in its implementation in Tajikistan.

During the conversation, issues of delivering Tajik goods to international markets in transit through the territory of Azerbaijan via the Middle Corridor, as well as cooperation in the fields of metallurgy, energy, and agriculture were discussed.

It was emphasized that the two peoples are connected by common historical roots. In this regard, the importance of regularly holding mutual cultural-humanitarian and sports events was noted.

The Prime Minister of Tajikistan expressed gratitude for the quotas allocated by the Azerbaijani side for Tajik students.

Emphasizing that Azerbaijan and Tajikistan possess great tourism potential, the parties touched upon the importance of opening direct air service between Baku and Dushanbe, and noted with satisfaction the growth in the spheres of tourism and passenger transportation. The significance of holding various events to present the tourism opportunities of our countries was emphasized.

At the meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed, and an exchange of views on the prospects of bilateral relations took place.
