Jeffrey Tsang at WUF13 in Baku: AI Will Help Experts in City Management
Artificial intelligence (AI) is not replacing specialists but is becoming a tool that enhances their work in managing urban systems.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Earthasia INSIGHT data scientist Jeffrey Tsang at an event within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.
He presented an approach to applying AI in urban green space management, noting that technologies can significantly increase the efficiency of arborists and municipal services.
"With the help of artificial intelligence, photographs taken by specialists in the field can be automatically analyzed to determine the condition of a tree, identify damage, and assess risks," he said.
He named the digitization of tree data and automation of form processing as the second area: "The use of OCR and AI technologies allows transforming scattered information into structured digital data and generating unified reports for decision-making."
He identified the creation of integrated digital dashboards as the third element of the system, which display the condition of urban trees on a map, including risk levels, maintenance recommendations, and predictive models.
At the same time, he emphasized that artificial intelligence serves not as a replacement for humans but as a support tool, while final decisions still remain with the experts.
