Media: The US and Iran have agreed on the final draft of a peace agreement
The United States and Iran, with Pakistan's mediation, have agreed on a final draft of an agreement; the deal may be officially announced within the coming hours.
This is reported by ILNA.
The draft provides for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire on all fronts, a commitment by both sides to refrain from strikes on infrastructure, as well as the establishment of a joint monitoring mechanism to ensure freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, the agreement envisions a gradual lifting of sanctions in exchange for Iran's compliance with the terms of the deal.
An official announcement may follow within the coming hours, and negotiations on remaining unresolved issues are expected to begin no later than within seven days.
Prior to this, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the situation surrounding a possible agreement between Washington and Tehran could become clearer in the coming days. He noted the presence of positive signals but emphasized that he did not want to "get ahead of official announcements."
