On Friday, the UN will hold a vote on a resolution to replace the Mercator map with a more accurate map of Africa. The initiative was supported by 54 member states of the African Union.
This is stated in UN General Assembly documents.
It is noted that while previously the UN attempted to rewrite history by forgetting certain parts of it, now they have taken on redrawing the world map. It should be noted that UN General Assembly resolutions are not binding, but a successful vote could update educational programs and technologies.
