Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed in a video address that U.S. special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will visit Kyiv on Sunday, September 6, on an official visit.

Ahead of the important negotiations, the head of state called on Russia to temporarily halt airstrikes and observe a ceasefire.

Zelensky noted that before visiting Ukraine, Donald Trump's delegation will visit Moscow. The president said that the security arrangements for the visit have already been fully agreed upon by U.S. and Ukrainian representatives. He emphasized that Ukraine has guaranteed a complete halt to military activity in its airspace for the safety of the American guests. Zelensky stated that Russia must also take an analogous step.

The Ukrainian side views this meeting as a platform for the most constructive and decisive dialogue possible, during which real options for ending the war will be discussed.

Official Kyiv intends to carefully study the proposals of the American envoys and Moscow's initial reaction to them.

It should be recalled that a similar visit, scheduled for late August, was postponed due to intensive missile strikes and drone attacks by the Russian military on Kyiv.
