Elise Bercht: Damage to Ukraine's housing sector as a result of the war with Russia is estimated at $90 billion
Ukraine's housing sector is one of the most affected areas as a result of the war with Russia.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Elise Bercht, Head of Division G33 for Federal States and Local Authorities at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, during WUF13 in Baku.
According to her, approximately 14% of Ukraine's housing stock has been destroyed or damaged as a result of hostilities, and the total damage and losses are estimated at approximately $90 billion.
She noted that housing recovery in Ukraine is not only about construction but also about issues of human dignity and urban development.
Bercht added that Germany considers the housing sector as one of the key areas of recovery and supports the creation of a safer, greener, and more inclusive urban environment.
