Vugar Suleymanov: More than 270 thousand hectares of liberated territories have been cleared of mines

Since November 2020, more than 270,000 hectares of liberated territories have been cleared of mines, and more than 250,000 mines and unexploded ordnance have been detected and neutralized.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), at a session within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.

He noted that the mine threat slows down the recovery process not only in Azerbaijan but also in a number of countries around the world, limits development opportunities, and poses a threat to public safety:

"That is why today's platform is of particular importance. Addressing the mine problem is not limited to national efforts alone; it requires continuous international support, partnership, innovative approaches, and the sharing of best practices."
